Discover the New Volkswagen SUV: The Tayron Bridges the Gap

Volkswagen has officially announced the arrival of the new Tayron SUV, a vehicle poised to make a significant impact in the competitive SUV market. Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, emphasizes the Tayron’s position within the Volkswagen family, stating, “The new Tayron is a bona fide Volkswagen: its quality is reflected in every detail; it is comfortable and practical for everyday life, and it is available with a wide range of drive systems. With this new Volkswagen Suv, we are further expanding our range in a growing segment and closing the gap between our best-seller, the Tiguan, and our luxury SUV, the Touareg. I am convinced that the Tayron will make its mark and be well received by our customers.” This statement highlights the strategic importance of the Tayron as a mid-range SUV offering, designed to appeal to a broad customer base seeking a balance of features and value.

Martin Sander, Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Sales, Marketing and After Sales, further elaborates on the Tayron’s appeal: “The new Tayron combines everything that a Volkswagen stands for: versatility, comfort and new technology. With up to seven seats, a premium interior, generous storage space and innovative drive systems, the large SUV is the ideal companion for families and adventurers alike. At the same time, we are making a clear statement with the Tayron: practicality and efficiency complement one another perfectly – for a driving experience that is up to our high standards.” The focus on versatility, passenger capacity, and premium features positions the Tayron as an ideal choice for families and those with active lifestyles, reinforcing its practicality and broad appeal as a Volkswagen SUV.

Technologically, the Tayron is built upon the MQB evo platform, a foundation shared with the Tiguan and Passat. Kai Grünitz, Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Development, notes the technological advancements: “Following on from the Tiguan and Passat, the Tayron benefits from the advantages of the MQB evo, too. With numerous technology modules, it impresses with a new generation of plug-in hybrid drives with electric ranges of over 100 kilometres, premium-level interior quality, intuitive infotainment system and the latest generation of driver assist systems including voice control with ChatGPT.” This technological underpinning ensures the Volkswagen SUV Tayron offers a modern driving experience, incorporating features like plug-in hybrid technology with a substantial electric range, a high-quality interior, user-friendly infotainment, and advanced driver assistance systems, including ChatGPT-powered voice control. The Tayron is presented as a well-rounded and technologically advanced Volkswagen SUV option, bridging the gap in Volkswagen’s SUV lineup and promising to be a compelling choice for discerning customers.
