2025 Audi A5 Price Announced: More Expensive and Slightly Slower Than A4

Audi is revamping its vehicle lineup, and the 2025 Audi A5 marks a significant shift. Replacing both the outgoing A4 and A5 models, the new A5 has been officially priced, starting at $48,995, including a $1,295 destination charge. This entry point is $3,600 higher than the previous base price of the A4 it supersedes.

While the outgoing Audi A4 boasted 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, achieving 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds, the 2025 Audi A5 offers a slight power increase with 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. However, surprisingly, it takes a bit longer to reach 60 mph, clocking in at 5.4 seconds. Standard features for the new model include 18-inch wheels equipped with all-season run-flat tires, with optional 19-inch wheels available for those seeking a sportier aesthetic.

Audi also introduced the new S5 variant, though pricing details are yet to be released. For context, the previous S4 model, powered by a 349 hp and 369 lb-ft engine, started at $56,195. Industry analysts predict the 2025 Audi S5 could approach the $60,000 mark, mirroring the price increase seen with the standard A5.

The new S5 does deliver more power, with 362 hp and a substantial 406 lb-ft of torque. However, it also carries significantly more weight. The 2025 Audi S5 is 419 pounds heavier than the outgoing S4, which could negatively impact its performance metrics despite the increased power output. It comes standard with 19-inch wheels and offers 20-inch wheels as an option, along with a suspension lowered by 0.79 inches for a more aggressive stance.

Further details regarding pricing for different trim levels are still under wraps. However, Audi’s consumer website currently lists a 2025 Audi A5 Prestige model, finished in Horizon Blue Metallic and equipped with the 19-inch wheel package, starting at $56,840. More comprehensive pricing information and specific release dates are expected closer to the vehicle’s on-sale date, which Audi has confirmed will be before the end of the second quarter.

Audi’s strategic moves indicate a shift towards more premium and potentially pricier vehicles, as they navigate the evolving automotive market.
