Kona Bikes are known for their quality and durability, and understanding the warranty ensures peace of mind with your purchase, especially if you own a 2020 Kona bike. Kona offers a comprehensive warranty program to the original owner, safeguarding against defects in materials and workmanship. It’s important to note that warranty conditions differ based on registration and component type.
Kona’s Warranty Coverage Explained
There are two primary warranty types offered by Kona: a one-year limited warranty on the complete bicycle and a lifetime limited warranty on the bicycle frame (for non-carbon models). The lifetime frame warranty is contingent upon registering your Kona bike within three months of the original purchase.
One-Year Limited Warranty on Complete Bicycle
For one year from the date of original purchase, Kona warrants the entire new Kona bicycle to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and conditions in the United States or Canada. Should any part be deemed defective by Kona within this period, Kona will, at its discretion, repair or replace the faulty part. It is important to note that the original owner is responsible for all labor charges associated with warranty repairs or replacements.
Lifetime Limited Warranty on Bicycle Frame
Kona provides a Lifetime Limited Warranty on the frame of non-carbon Kona bicycles to the original owner, but this is dependent on timely registration.
- Registered Warranty: If you register your non-carbon Kona bike with Kona within three months of purchase, the frame is warranted for the lifetime of the original owner against defective materials or workmanship.
- Unregistered Warranty: If the warranty is not registered within the three-month period, the frame of your new Kona bicycle is warranted for three years from the date of purchase from an authorized Kona dealer.
During the applicable warranty period, Kona will repair or replace the bicycle frame if it is determined to be defective under this limited warranty. The original owner is responsible for all labor and shipping costs connected with the repair or replacement of the frame. It is important to consult the Kona owner’s manual, provided with your bicycle, for complete details and any additional information.
Important Note: The Lifetime Limited Warranty applies to purchases from Kona U.S.A., Kona Canada, and Kona Europe. Carbon frames and models are excluded from the Lifetime Warranty.
