Thrilled with My New 2019 Porsche Macan S – First Impressions and Connectivity Queries

After a challenging few weeks with previous car purchases, I’m absolutely delighted to share my excitement about finally getting my hands on a stunning 2019 Macan S last Saturday! It’s been a dream to drive, and I’m really hoping this will be a keeper after the previous disappointments.

This particular 2019 Macan S comes loaded with fantastic options that really enhance its sporty appeal and luxurious feel. It boasts the SportDesign package with SportDesign side skirts, a panoramic roof system, privacy glass, and door handles painted in a sleek black (high-gloss). The side blades are painted in the exterior color, complemented by side window trims in black (high-gloss). For enhanced driving dynamics, it includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and sports tailpipes in black. Practical additions include a 75-litre fuel tank, Power steering Plus, and an 18-inch collapsible spare wheel. The wheels are upgraded to 20-inch Macan Turbo wheels painted in Black (high-gloss), featuring wheel centers with full-colour Porsche Crest.

Inside, the Macan S is equally impressive with a compass display on the dashboard and a heated windscreen for added convenience. Comfort is paramount with 14-way electric seats (front) with memory package, front seat heating, and a heated steering wheel. It also includes a smoking package and white instrument dials, along with a compass instrument dial in White. The comfort lighting package and LED main headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) ensure excellent visibility and ambiance. Automatically dimming mirrors, ParkAssist (front and rear) including reversing camera and Surround View, and Lane Change Assist complete the comprehensive list of features.

However, I’m encountering a bit of a learning curve with the connected features and would greatly appreciate some guidance from those more experienced.

I’ve successfully installed the My Porsche app on my iPhone, and it seems to be functioning correctly. I can access vehicle status information such as tyre pressures, fuel range, and upcoming service dates. This service is active until May 2024, a pre-existing subscription from the previous owner. My understanding is that once this subscription expires in May, I’ll lose access to these features unless I opt for renewal. Could anyone confirm this?

Furthermore, when navigating through the PCM services menu, I see the following options:

I was also granted a 10-day trial for Porsche Car Connect (in partnership with Vodafone). I believe this service should enable remote locking/unlocking and access to trip data, among other functionalities? If this is the case, I’m unsure how to activate and utilize these features. Is there a separate application for Porsche Car Connect, or should it be accessible through the My Porsche app? I haven’t been able to find a clear way to access these Car Connect features within the My Porsche app.

Any assistance or insights regarding the Porsche connected services for my 2019 Macan S would be highly valued!
